Acer Iconia Tab A500's retail price cut down to $395 to increase sales

In order to increase sales of its current flagship Android tablet, Acer has decided to cut the price down of the Iconia Tab A500 from $450 USD to $395 USD. With this move, the Acer Iconia Tab A500 which was launched alongside several other Iconia series devices in Bangladesh recently, is now a good deal cheaper than the cheapest Apple iPad and several other Android tablets, except maybe the pseudo-Android tablet from Barnes & Noble that runs a version of Honeycomb (Android 3.0).

On top of the price reduction, Acer has also updated the Acer Iconia A500 software to Android 3.1. But the question remains, is this enough to entice potential customers to start buying more of these 10-inch tablet computers from Acer? Competition in the Android tablet market space is a lot stiffer nowadays. Only time will tell if consumers side with the Acer Iconia Tabs.
